Recent Project: Corporate Communications for Strategic Acquisition

No noise. No fluff. Just solid, practical advice and joined-up execution.

I’ve just completed a strategic comms project with a long-standing client - someone I’ve worked with since my previous business days, and who knows firsthand the value of solid, respectful collaboration. When a client comes back after years to work together again, it’s a powerful reminder of the trust we’ve built and the strength of experience behind Force4GoodConsultancy.

Sometimes, a bit of grey hair is exactly what’s needed! Especially when it comes to finding the right tone and approach for sensitive, high-profile announcements. Experience counts, and in this case, it helped steer everything to a smooth outcome.

We began the work just four weeks ago. The brief: shape the comms strategy and messaging for a significant business announcement - the acquisition of a group of brands in the travel and leisure space. I developed the narrative and advised on structure, working across the client’s board, CEO, leadership team, departmental heads, shareholders, investors, and the stakeholder group of the acquired company.

It was a complex and high-pressure environment. Getting sign-off from multiple parties came right down to the wire (as these things do), but once finalised, the plan rolled out as designed. The comms launched yesterday—and I’m pleased to say all landed cleanly and confidently across every audience.

What Worked and Why It Matters

In today’s business environment, comms around acquisitions don’t have to be chaotic. Preparation, clarity, and consistency are what make the difference.

Here’s what helped this project succeed:

  • Start early - but stay flexible

Deals evolve fast. Get ahead where possible whilst remaining agile and willing to compromise without reducing the impact of the message throughout.

  • Keep the core team lean

Smaller working groups lead to better decisions and smoother delivery.

  • Bring in experienced external support

As the outside advisor, I focused on the messaging while internal teams could focus on handling BAU and operational detail.

  • Prioritise internal audiences

Your people - and theirs - need thoughtful, clear communication. Don’t overlook the internal impact.

  • Review channels and touchpoints with fresh eyes

An external set of eyes is essential. I reviewed touchpoint and comms channels to ensure messaging was aligned and consistent.

  • Have a plan - and stick to it

Overcomplication muddies the water. Simplicity and clarity of responsibility, timing and ownership win every time.

  • Centralise control of comms

One lead, one narrative, coordinated inputs. That’s how alignment happens.

Why Force4GoodConsultancy?

This kind of work is my sweet spot. I bring a level-head, strategic clarity, and a collaborative approach - especially when the pressure’s on and details matter most. And a sense of humour comes as part of the package.

If you’re managing a sensitive announcement, navigating change, or want your comms to cut through confidently, I’m here to help - so long as there’s no conflict with my existing commitments.
